Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

Inicijativu za osnivanje vatrogasnog društva prvi je dao Vincek Juraj tadašnji knjigovođa poljoprivredne zadruge Gačice, te je kroz kratko razdoblje i oformiran Inicijativni odbor koji 12.05.1955. podnosi zahtjev za osnivanje Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Gačice narodnom odboru kotara Varaždin, odjelu za unutarnje poslove. Dana 23.05.1955. pod rednim brojem 6384/55 dobiva se pozitivno riješenje od strane Narodnog odbora za osnivanje Društva. Na osnovi tog riješenje vrše se užurbane pripreme za održavanje osnivačke skupštine. 28 Kolovoza 1955.g Održava se osnivačka skupština Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Gačice, bio je prisutan i 41 član skupštine, a izabran je i prvi Upravni odbor u sastavu:

Bili su to počeci organiziranog vatrogastva na području sela Gačice i Lukavca, no već iste godine 11 prosinca održana je prva godišnja skupština društva na kojoj je bilo prisutno 25 članova. Tu primječujemo da u tih nekoliko mjeseci dolazi do selekcije članova, naime mnogi od nas ovdje prisutnih nismo bili ni rođeni, ali saznajemo da je tih godina još postojao strah od posljedica neodazivanja javnim skupovima, tako da je osnivačkoj skupštini prisustvovao gotovo svaki mlađi muškarac iz sela. Članovima društva ostali su samo oni kojima je bio cilj da se organiziraju u zaštiti od požara. Na toj istoj godišnjoj skupštini dolazi i do smjene predsjednika, te novo izabranim predsjednikom postaje Črnjak Josip. Kroz izvješče o radu u prvoj godini djelovanja vidljivo je da je društvo nosioc javnog i kulturnog rada u selu, održane su i dvije javne vježbe sa priredbama i zabavama na kojima su dobivena i prva financijska sredstva sa kojima se kupuje 25 kapi titovki sa značkama. Prvu javnu vježbu DVD Gačice odrađuje zajedno sa DVD-om Ciglana Cerje Tužno i DVD-om Radovan. Već tada javlja se ideja o nabavci motorne pumpe i izgradnji spremišta za istu. Društvo je u to vrijeme vrlo aktivno te sudjeluje na svim javnim vježbama u okolici, ali i na općinskom natjecanju u Vidovcu. Iz postojećih dokumenata vidljivo je da se 1956. Društvu dodjeljuje 100 000 dinara za nabavu opreme, a počinje se i sa osposobljavanjima članova, tako da Brezovec Ivan završava tečaj za komandira, a Benkus Juraj za strojara. Društvo sudjeluje 56-te i prvom gašenju požara u Osečkoj, naravno bez opreme jer istu nije posjedovalo. 20.07.1957 kupljena je motorna pumpa marke „SAVICA“ usisne cijevi i 23 metara tlačnih cijevi, u 58` kupuje se i jedna vatrogasna uniforma i 9 radnih vatrogasnih odjela. Kao što vidimo kroz vrlo kratak period društvo se dosta opremilo te je za ono vrijeme to bilo jedno od jako dobro obremjenih društava.

1959 ponovno se sudjeluje na gašenju velikog požara u Osečkoj, no međutim novonabavljena oprema nije se mogla koristiti  jer nije bilo izvora vode. Danas je to nama dosta neshvatljivo ali činjenice su da je to bio vrlo velik problem za Društvo. Saznajemo da je voda u to vrijeme u našem kraju bila skuplja od vina pa mislim da sam time sve rekao kakva je bila opasnost od požara u to vrijeme. Zato se u društvu ponovno rađa ideja o izgradnji bazena za potrebe društva, no međutim sve je ostalo samo na planovima jer nije bilo financijskih sredstava za izgradnju. 61` društvo gasi požar u Stažnjevcu, gdje također nije bilo izvora vode pa je isti ugašen uz pomoć DVD-a Ivanec koji su imali vatrogasno vozilo sa spremnikom za vodu. Iste godine družtvo organizira i zabavu od čijeg prihoda je kupljeno još dodatnih  90 metara tlaćnih cijevi i ručna vatrogasna sirene, a uspješno je i izgrađen jedan bunar u zaselku Brezovci. Javljaju se i nove ideje o izgradnji spremišta za opremu jer se ista čuvala u neprikladnim uvjetima poljoprivredne zadruge no međutim i dalje su bila problem financijska sredstva. 29.kolovoza 1965 održana je velika proslava 10 godina rada DVD-a Gačice na kojoj je prisustvovalo 21 društvo sa preko 200 vatrogasaca. Pokrovitelj proslave bio je tadašnji direktor Ivanečkih ugljenokopa  Vinko Vrček, a društvu je tom prigodom donirano 11 vatrogasnih odjela.

The society was very active at that time and participated in all public exercises in the area, but also in the municipal competition in Vidovac. It is evident from the existing documents that in 1956 the Society was awarded 100,000 dinars for the purchase of equipment, and the training of members began, so that Brezovec Ivan completed the course for commander, and Benkus Juraj for engineer. The company is participating in the 56th and the first firefighting in Osečka, of course without equipment because it did not have it. On July 20, 1957, a motor pump of the brand "SAVICA" suction pipe and 23 meters of pressure pipes was purchased, in 58` a fire brigade uniform and 9 working fire departments were purchased. As we can see, in a very short period of time the society was quite equipped and at that time it was one of the very well-burdened societies. In 1959, he again took part in extinguishing a large fire in Osečka, but the newly acquired equipment could not be used because there was no water source. Today it is quite incomprehensible to us but the facts are that it was a very big problem for the Society. We find out that water was more expensive than wine in our area at that time, so I think I said everything about the danger of fire at that time. That is why the idea of ​​building a swimming pool for the needs of the society is being reborn in the society, but everything remained only on the plans because there were no funds for the construction. 61` The company put out the fire in Stažnjevac, where there was also no source of water, so it was extinguished with the help of DVD Ivanec, which had a fire truck with a water tank. In the same year, the company organized a party from the income of which an additional 90 meters of pressure pipes and hand-held fire sirens were purchased, and a well was successfully built in the hamlet of Brezovci. There are also new ideas about building storage for equipment because it was kept in unsuitable conditions of the agricultural cooperative, but financial resources were still a problem. On August 29, 1965, a big celebration of 10 years of DVD Gacica was held, which was attended by 21 companies with over 200 firefighters. The patron of the celebration was the then director of the Ivanec Coal Mines, Vinko Vrček, and on that occasion, 11 fire departments were donated to the company.
