DVD NUŠTAR
Vatrogastvo kao organizirani oblik borbe protiv vatrene stihije javlja se u Nuštru vrlo rano u odnosu na ostala sela u vinkovačko-vukovarskom kraju. Godine 1891., kada je Mato Domaćinović postavljen za općinskog bilježnika i po toj funkciji često odlazio u Vukovar, tamošnji vatrogasci su ga savjetovali kako bi u Nuštru trebalo ustrojiti vatrogasnu udrugu, a oni su bili voljni dolaziti i učiti početne vježbe i općenito pomagati udrugu. Sve je to trajalo oko dvije godine te je 1893. god. Mato Domaćinović savjet potražio kod nuštarskog župnika, velečasnog Florijana Činčeka, posjednika Karla Dolanskog i učitelja Franje Štiglmajera glede ustrojstva vatrogasne udruge. Tada je učitelj Štiglmajer sazvao na osnivački sastanak, dana 25. travnja 1893. god., sve obrtnike i veći broj drugih mještana. Odaziv je bio prilično dobar. Tada je izabran prvi odbor i taj se dan može smatrati danom osnivanja DVD Nuštar. Za prvog je predsjednika izabran nuštarski župnik i narodni poslanik Florijan Činček, za tajnika Franjo Štiglmajer, za blagajnika Antun Weber, a za poslužitelja Franjo Lukač. Pored nabrojanih odbor su sačinjavali: zapovjednik Dragutin Dolanski, dozapovjednik Mato Domaćinović, pomoćnik Hinko Šliter, vježbatelj Franjo Kiš, odjelni zapovjednici Antun Švager, Šandor Bela, Antun Majer i Ignjat Baum. Firefighting as an organized form of combating the fire element occurs in Nuštar very early in relation to other villages in the Vinkovci-Vukovar area. In 1891, when Mato Domaćinović was appointed municipal notary and often went to Vukovar for that position, the local firefighters advised him that a fire brigade should be set up in Nuštar, and they were willing to come and learn initial exercises and help the association in general.
