Autorski monografiju Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Vidovec potpisuje novinar i publicist Kristijan Skočibušić.
Despite everything, on the occasion of the big anniversary, the Vidovec firefighters realized, in cooperation with the Association Terra vox and the Municipality of Vidovec, a large monograph in which they paid tribute to all generations of Vidovec residents who lived and promoted the ideas of firefighting for 130 years. It is a publication that provides a complete overview of the activities of DVD Vidovec throughout history, its significance and the role the company played in the fire department of Vidovec Municipality and Varaždin County, as well as the contribution its members made to the social and cultural development of Vidovec.
The author's monograph of the Vidovec Volunteer Fire Brigade is signed by journalist and publicist Kristijan Skočibušić. It is the result of several years of thorough research and collection of documents and photographs, which ultimately resulted in a journalistic work of the highest standard. The text is written in an attractive style, and the graphic solutions and hundreds of photos present the content in a clear, informative and educational way. Skočibušić's book about Vidovec firemen cannot be classified as one of the already seen books on the subject of firefighting. It is a book that gives much more than the usual listing of years and people who marked the work of a fire company. The fundamental guiding thought of the book is, of course, firefighting, but the stated topic is told through the context of time with clearly highlighted events with a special emphasis on the people who marked 130 years of Vidovec firefighting. The book is the story of generations of clairvoyant families who created and lived firefighting from the first day, who passed on its noble ideas from generation to generation. All the beauty of firefighting is contained in the expression: Put out the fire, save your brother! Of course, the brother from the mentioned fireman's mantra is every person who needs help, all those who are threatened by fire, water or other natural disasters.
Although it could, and should, be remembered on every occasion whenever possible, we will leave it out this time. Namely, Vidovec DVD has so many of them that singling out one of them would be unfair in relation to all other executive and supporting members or founding members. DVD Vidovec was lucky from the very beginning that the values of the ideas he promoted and the way he acted attracted valuable and influential people of his time to his ranks. Among those who led it or materially helped it were members of the nobility (Baron Camillo Jordis, Radovan pl. Kukuljević and others), craftsmen, landowners, bishops (Mons. dr. Antun Bauer), priests, teachers, merchants, chiefs and others .). All of them had a common goal, namely the promotion of the value and protection of the common good, brotherhood and solidarity. The society and its fire station has been and remains a place of meeting, socializing, song and dance for decades. There is almost no clairvoyant family that did not have a celebration (celebrations, christenings, weddings, birthdays, etc.) in the fire station. From the beginning, and always with God's help, firefighters were the first on the line of defense of the life of every person in trouble, their property, and their homeland. Philanthropy and patriotism are in the heart of every firefighter. Vidovec's 130 years as a firefighter confirms this in a beautiful and credible way.
