Četvrti po redu Memorijal „Mirko Kolarić“ održan je 28. i 29. svibnja 1983. godine u Varaždinu. Bio je to već četvrti uzastopni Memorijal, koji je prerastao u tradicionalno vatrogasno natjecanje. Domaćin natjecanja bilo je Varaždinsko dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo, a na Memorijalu je sudjelovalo 76 vatrogasnih ekipa s više od 1200 vatrogasaca iz svih krajeva Hrvatske i Slovenije. U odnosu na prošlogodišnji Memorijal, kada su u natjecanju sudjelovale 54 ekipe sa 700 natjecatelja, ovogodišnji odaziv predstavljao je značajan pomak, ali i potvrdu velikog poštovanja, interesa i želje vatrogasnih ekipa za sudjelovanjem na Memorijalu „Mirko Kolarić“.

U kategoriji muških ekipa prvo mjesto osvojila je ekipa Gasilskog društva Škofja Vas iz Slovenije, dok je u konkurenciji ženskih ekipa najbolja bila ekipa Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva (DVD) Mraclin. Najatraktivniju vježbu u kategoriji slobodnih aktivnosti izveli su vatrogasci DVD-a Klana (VSO Rijeka).

The fourth edition of the “Mirko Kolarić” Memorial was held on 28 and 29 May 1983 in Varaždin. It was the fourth consecutive edition of the Memorial, which had by then grown into a traditional firefighting competition. The host of the competition was the Varaždin Volunteer Fire Brigade, and the Memorial brought together 76 firefighting teams, with more than 1,200 firefighters from all parts of Croatia and Slovenia. Compared with the previous year’s Memorial, when 54 teams with 700 competitors took part, this year’s turnout represented a significant increase, as well as confirmation of the great respect, interest and enthusiasm of firefighting teams for participating in the “Mirko Kolarić” Memorial.

In the men’s category, first place was won by the Škofja Vas Fire Brigade team from Slovenia, while the best among the women’s teams was the Volunteer Fire Brigade (DVD) Mraclin. The most spectacular exercise in the free activities category was performed by the firefighters of DVD Klana (VSO Rijeka).
