DVD STRUGA
Kao u ostalim mjestima ludbreške Podravine, Strugu su sve do sredine 20. stoljeća sačinjavala duga i uska dvorišta, a gospodarski objekti izgrađeni su od drveta i prekriveni slamom. Takav način gradnje uvelike je pridonosio lakoj pojavi požara te brzom širenu vatrene stihije. Posljedice su bile katastrofalne što je dovelo do toga da neka kućanstva nisu imala osnovna sredstava za život. Sve češća pojava takvih nemilih događaja budila je svijest o potrebi osnivanja vatrogasne organizacije. Godine 1893. osnovano je vatrogasno društvo koje je okupljalo vatrogasce triju susjednih sela: Sesveta Ludbreških, Karlovca Ludbreškog i Struge. DVD Sesvete Ludbrečke imale su većinu članova, dok su članovi u Karlovcu i Strugi smatrani glavnom potporom. Tako osnovano Društvo provodi obučavanje svojih članova, sudjeluje u gašenju požara u svojem i okolnim selima. Godine 1938. dolazi do reorganizacije zajedničkog Društva, a godinu dana kasnije sagrađeno je i vatrogasno spremište u Strugi. Do formiranja vatrogasne postrojbe nije došlo zbog ratnih prilika, točnije zbog 2. Svjetskog rata. Nakon završetka rata na ovim područjima, u prostorijama društvenog doma, dana 2. veljače 1946. godine, na skupštini mjesnog odbora osnovano je Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Struga. Članovi odbora bili su: Vid Tuksor, predsjednik, te Josip Premec, Đurp Krušelj, Franjo Premec i mnogi dugi, kao članovi. Osim spomenutog mjesnog odbora, inicijatori osnivanja Društva su bili: prof. Pavao Špoljarić, Valent Magić, Josip Valjak, Ivan Premec, Ivan Benc, Franjo Krušelj i drugi.
As in other villages of the Ludbreg Podravina region, until the mid-20th century, Struga consisted of long and narrow courtyards, with farm buildings made of wood and covered with straw. This style of construction greatly contributed to the frequent occurrence of fires and the rapid spread of flames. The consequences were catastrophic, often leaving households without basic means of survival. The increasing frequency of such unfortunate events raised awareness of the need to establish a firefighting organization. In 1893, a fire department was founded that gathered firefighters from three neighboring villages: Sesvete Ludbreške, Karlovec Ludbreški, and Struga. DVD Sesvete Ludbreške provided the majority of members, while members from Karlovec and Struga were considered the primary support. The society trained its members and participated in extinguishing fires in their own and surrounding villages. In 1938, the joint society underwent a reorganization, and a year later, a fire equipment shed was built in Struga. However, the official formation of a dedicated unit was delayed due to the circumstances of World War II. Following the end of the war in these areas, the Struga Volunteer Fire Department was officially founded on February 2, 1946, during a local committee assembly held at the community center. The committee members were Vid Tuksor (President), Josip Premec, Đuro Krušelj, Franjo Premec, and many others. Beside the local committee, the initiators of the department’s founding were Prof. Pavao Špoljarić, Valent Magić, Josip Valjak, Ivan Premec, Ivan Benc, Franjo Krušelj, and others.
