The memorial of the village of Oštrice appears in historical sources for the first time in 1641. It is then that the chapel in Oštrice is mentioned for the first time, which was built as a votive chapel of grateful believers who were spared the plague that was ruthlessly spreading in our region at that time. However, the history related to our DVD society is not in the 17th century, but dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, more precisely in the year 1933. On November 12, 1933 (Sunday), DVD Blades began work. Our first registry book dates from that date, which still exists today. At the very beginning of the operation, the company's management was elected, and it consisted of: the company's commander Martin Šestak, president Ivan Šestak and clerk Ivan Košćak. They can also be considered the founders of society. In the year of its foundation, the society was joined by 24 locals from Oštrice and one member each from Orehovac and Ključ. The parish priest of Remetinec, Antun Gold, and the school principal, Ante Turković, joined the New Year 1939 on DVD. That fact alone speaks to the power of the DVD at the time. The very foundation of the society was preceded by a great tragedy that happened a couple of years ago. An unfortunate event that spurred the development of firefighting in our place, was a staggering fire, which occurred on May 4, 1931. On that day, also the day of St. Florian the Protector of Fire, Stipan Jakob's barn was set on fire at around 4 pm, allegedly through the fault of the children, so the flames, aided by the Southwest, soon engulfed the surrounding buildings, and within an hour affected a dozen farms. According to the writings, the first to jump out were the local peasants with a small syringe, which could not stop the element that was apparently swallowing house after house, barn after barn. Firefighters from DVD Novi Marof were the first to come to the rescue, and later very well-equipped firefighters from Varaždinske Toplice arrived, with a motorized syringe and demolition tools. All this was not enough to stop the fire, so firefighters arrived to help. from Varaždin. They used a motor syringe to try to bring water from the Bednja river. Due to the difference in height, it did not help them, so in order to stop the spread of the fire element, they started demolishing buildings, supported by the work of smaller syringes.
