Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

Društvo je osnovano 7. siječnja 1934. godine kada su se zainteresirani mještana Tuhovca, Lovrentovca i Škarnika sastali u gostionici. Te godine, 68-ero ljudi prepoznalo je ideju humanog djelovanja na načelima dobrovoljnosti u cilju međusobne pomoći u borbi protiv požarnih i elementarnih nepogoda. Društvo je tijekom 90 godina imalo svojih uspona i padova, a jedna od istaknutijih godina svakako je 1988. godina kada se u DVD upisalo 15-ero djece koja su danas stasala u vodeće ljude ovog društva i zajednice. Devedesetih godina članstvo Društva rasulo se po cijeloj zemlji u obrani Hrvatske, te je ostala nekolicina iskusnih vatrogasaca te mladež i djeca s kojom se svakodnevno radilo. U razdoblju nakon Domovinskog rata razmišljalo se o obnovi starog vatrogasnog doma i prenamjeni u vatrogasno spremište te su radovi završeni povodom 65. obljetnice DVD-a. Tu se ističe veliki nedostatak osobne opreme za vatrogasne intervencije. Članovi su intervencije sve do 2002. godine odrađivali sa svojim osobnim automobilima, traktorskim cisternama i drugom vlastitom opremom, a zahvaljujuću DVD-u Varaždinske Toplice, to se promijenilo donacijom prvog vatrogasnog vozila marke TAM 75. Poseban značaj u DVD-u ima rad s djecom i mladeži koji se postepeno razvijao posljednjih desetak godina, kao i uvježbavanje natjecateljskih skupina. Tijekom godina, ekipe su osvojile mnoga postolja i nagrade te ime Društva ponijele i van granica Hrvatske, pri čemu se najviše ističe period od 2014. do 2023. godine kada su tri puta sudjelovali na Državnom natjecanju vatrogasne mladeži. Tako je prošle godine, na spomenutom natjecanju održanom u Novalji na otoku Pagu, vatrogasna mladež DVD-a Tuhovec osvojila fenomenalno 5. mjesto.

The society was founded on January 7, 1934, when interested residents of Tuhovac, Lovrentovac and Škarnik met in an inn. That year, 68 people recognized the idea of ​​humane action based on the principles of volunteerism in order to help each other in the fight against fire and natural disasters. During the 90 years, the society had its ups and downs, and one of the most prominent years was certainly 1988, when 15 children enrolled in the DVD, who today have become leading people of this society and community. In the 1990s, the Society's membership was dispersed throughout the country in defense of Croatia, leaving only a few experienced firefighters and the youth and children with whom we worked on a daily basis. In the period after the Homeland War, the renovation of the old firehouse and conversion into a firehouse was considered, and the works were completed on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the DVD. There is a great lack of personal equipment for firefighting interventions. Until 2002, the members carried out interventions with their own cars, tractor tanks and other equipment, and thanks to the DVD of Varaždinska Toplice, that changed with the donation of the first TAM 75 fire engine. Work with children is of particular importance in the DVD. and youth, which has been gradually developing over the past ten years, as well as the training of competitive groups. Over the years, the teams have won many podiums and awards and have taken the name of the Company beyond the borders of Croatia, with the most notable being the period from 2014 to 2023, when they participated three times in the National Firefighter Youth Competition. So, last year, at the aforementioned competition held in Novalja on the island of Pag, the fire brigade youth from DVD Tuhovec won a phenomenal 5th place
