U 19 stoljeću Cvetković su poharala tri katastrofalna  požara, 1883., 1866. te 1877. godine. Kako bi se ovakve katastrofe izbjegle, općina Cvetković je kupila dvije štrcaljke koje je društvo preuzelo pri svom osnivanju, koje bilo 28. svibnja 1893. Pravila društva potvrđena su 5. lipnja 1894. od strane kraljevske zemaljske vlade, no za godinu osnivanja uzima se 1893. što je potvrdila i Hrvatsko-slavonska vatrogasna zajednica koja je primila DVD Cvetković u svoje članstvo 30. lipnja 1893. Najzaslužniji za osnivanje vatrogasnog društva su Đuru Rožman, Nikola Lukšić i nekolicina općinskih činovnika i lokalnih obrtnika. Dodatnu potporu pružio je sam vrh hrvatskog vatrogastva budući da je tajnik Hrvatsko-slavonske vatrogasne zajednice, Mirko Kolarić, kojeg smatraju ocem hrvatskog vatrogastva bio direktno uključen u proces osnivanja DVD-a Cvetković. Na osnivačkoj skupštini sudjelovala su 44 osnivača iz Cvetkvića, te sedam iz Čabdina. Oni su imenovali Nikolu Lukšića za vojvodu, a Gjuru Rožmana, za zamjenika te izabrali ostala tijela društva sukladno tadašnjim pravilima. Vodstvo je počelo voditi brigu o svemu pa tako i uvježbavanju vatrogasaca pa je pozvalo  Mirka Kolarić 1904. godine kako bi uvježbao jednu četu vatrogasaca za operativni rad i gašenje požara s opremom koja je do tada nabavljena. To je sada povijest, ali to je i temelj današnjeg društva koje je jedno najbolje organiziranih i opremljenih u gradu Jastrebarskom. Treba reći da je DVD Cvetković bio i jedan od osnivača Vatrogasne župe Jastrebarsko te jedno od najjačih društava u župi.

During the 19th century, Cvetković was devastated by three catastrophic fires, in 1866, 1877, and 1883. To prevent such disasters from recurring, the Municipality of Cvetković purchased two hand-operated fire pumps, which were taken over by the newly established fire brigade when it was founded on 28 May 1893. The Society's statutes were officially approved by the Royal Provincial Government on 5 June 1894. However, 1893 is recognized as the official year of establishment, as confirmed by the Croatian-Slavonian Firefighting Association, which admitted the Cvetković Volunteer Fire Department (DVD Cvetković) into its membership on 30 June 1893. The individuals most responsible for founding the fire brigade were Đuro Rožman, Nikola Lukšić, together with several municipal officials and local craftsmen. Additional support came from the highest levels of the Croatian fire service. Mirko Kolarić, Secretary of the Croatian-Slavonian Firefighting Association and widely regarded as the father of Croatian firefighting, was directly involved in the establishment of DVD Cvetković. The founding assembly was attended by 44 founding members from Cvetković and seven from Čabdin. They appointed Nikola Lukšić as Fire Chief (Vojvoda) and Đuro Rožman as his deputy, while electing the remaining officers of the Society in accordance with the regulations of the time. From the very beginning, the leadership devoted great attention to every aspect of the Society's development, including the training of its firefighters. In 1904, Mirko Kolarić was invited to train a firefighting unit for operational duties and fire suppression using the equipment that had been acquired by that time. Today, these events are part of history, but they also represent the foundation of a fire brigade that has grown into one of the best organized and best equipped in the City of Jastrebarsko. It should also be noted that DVD Cvetković was one of the founding members of the Jastrebarsko Firefighting District Association and was regarded as one of its strongest and most influential volunteer fire departments.
