Tako kažu dokumenti, no službeno smo upisani 1890. godine“.
They were founded back in 1890 by members of the Noble District of Lomnica Dolnja. At that time, most houses were thatched with straw, making the need for an organized fire brigade particularly urgent. In those days, only two other fire departments operated in the surrounding area: DVD Velika Gorica and DVD Mraclin. However, the current president of the fire department, Ivica Stepanić, explains that written records of firefighting activity in the village date back as far as 1882. As he says: “We have a record published in the Narodne Novine newspaper describing a fire at the factory in Čiče in 1882, where our firefighters responded using an old hand-operated fire pump. That is what the documents show. However, our official founding and registration date is 1890.”
