DVD Dubravica osnovano je u proljeće 1928. godine inicijativom tadašnjeg općinskog bilježnika Miroslava Pavlinića, te potporom učitelja Ivana Bašića i trgovca Josipa Tursana. Članovi utemeljitelja društva su: Horvat Stjepan, Štritof Josip, Strunjak Dragutin, Kokolić Milka, Baršić Antun, Horvat Juraj, Holzinger Antun, Štos Miln, Matkovi Juraj, Stiperski Stjepan, Nežić Dragutin, Šmaguc Stjepan i Vidmar Luka. Prvu upravu činili su Josip Tursan predsjednik, Ivan Bašić zapovjednik, Miroslav Pavlinić tajnik. Ubrzo nakon osnivanja društvu se pridružuje i Limena glazba Rozga sa kompletnim članstvom koja prati rad društva. Prvi zadatak novoosnovanog društva bilo je prikupljanje sredstava za nabavku vatrogasne štrcaljke i osnovne vatrogasne opreme. Kako je društvo bilo dobro prihvaćeno ubrzo su sakupljena sredstva i kupila se štrcaljka na nožni pogon. The first board was composed of Josip Tursan as president, Ivan Bašić as commander, and Miroslav Pavlinić as secretary. Shortly after its founding, the Rozga Brass Band joined the society with its entire membership, accompanying the society's work ever since. The first task of the newly formed society was to raise funds to purchase a fire pump and basic firefighting equipment. Since the society was well-received, the funds were quickly collected, and a foot-operated pump was purchased. It was operated by 8 firefighters, and the godmother of the pump was teacher Milka Kokolić.
